On March 15, Vietnam officially opened tourism activities, welcoming international visitors under new normal conditions with open policies on immigration procedures. However, after more than 3 months, the number of international visitors to Vietnam is still modest. To solve this challenge, the promotion of Vietnam’s tourism image along with priority policies on visa exemption is an important key for tourists to choose Vietnam.
Troubleshooting the challenge of attracting international visitors to Vietnam
According to statistics from the General Department of Tourism, in April 2022, Vietnam welcomed 80,000 visitors, and in May 2022 welcomed 172,900 visitors. In general, in the first 5 months of the year, Vietnam received 365,300 visitors. Previously, our country’s tourism set a target of welcoming 5 million international visitors in 2022. From that statistic, it can be seen that the number of international visitors is still far from the set number.
In that context, ITE HCMC 2022 was born to promote international communication and tourism marketing abroad. The presence of quality international partners, corporations, buyers, as well as domestic and international exhibitors to attend and trade, promises to bring an abundant source of international visitors from markets around the world, traditional markets as well as new markets to Vietnam in the near future.
The event plays the role of “leverage” for the units to join forces and build attractive stimulus programs to attract international visitors back to Vietnam. It is the promotion of linkages and active participation in the global value chain of localities and businesses that will contribute to improving the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism on the world tourism map.
